WATCH: Chris Lynn Clears the Gabba
In just five matches played in BBL|06 Lynn amassed 309 runs off 174 balls, including a competition-leading 26 sixes and a high score of 98 not out in the match against the Perth Scorchers on 5 January.
Lynn, who amassed 18 votes for the player of the tournament award, faced strong competition from the likes of the Adelaide Strikers’ Ben Dunk (16 votes), the Sydney Sixers’ Sean Abbott (16 votes), and Melbourne Renegades captain Aaron Finch (14 votes), while fellow Heat batsman and 'Bash Brother' Brendon McCullum polled 10 votes to finish seventh.
Votes are awarded on a 3-2-1 basis by the standing umpires at the end of each match meaning a player can receive up to six votes per match.
It is the second season in a row that Lynn has been crowned the BBL's Best Player, with his early season form rewarded with a debut call-up to Australia's One-Day International team.
