Top order batsman Alex Doolan will add to the strong Brisbane Heat interstate flavour for this season's KFC T20 Big Bash League.
Doolan plays for the Tasmanian Tigers in the Sheffield Shield and Matador Cup and has previously called the Melbourne Renegades home in the BBL.
He comes to Brisbane seeking the opportunity to bat regularly on the pacy Gabba pitch while also looking to work with the Heat's up and coming coaching group.
'Dools' achieved every young cricketer's dream in 2014 when he donned the baggy green on Australia's tour of South Africa. While faced against one of international cricket's most fearsome bowling attacks in Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, Doolan refused to take a backwards step in scoring a fighting 89 on debut and pulled off some stunning catches in the Aussies' famous series win.
Outside of cricket Dools is a massive AFL fan and supports the Essendon Bombers, although he is expecting his Heat teammates to try and teach him the ins and outs of the rugby codes this summer.
