About the Brisbane Heat

The Brisbane Heat represent our great city and the sunny state of Queensland in the KFC T20 Big Bash League and Rebel Women's Big Bash League.

Now approaching its ninth season, the BBL has grown to be one of the best T20 competitions in the world.

The Heat are one of five clubs to have won a BBL crown, having taken out the competition in 2012-13.

We compete amongst eight foundation teams including the Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Hobart Hurricanes, Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers.

The competition consists of fourteen matches per team, plus two semi finals and a grand final. We play our seven home games at either The Gabba - Queensland's home for top level domestic and international cricket or Metricon Stadium at the Gold Coast.

In 2014-15 the revolutionary Women's Big Bash League was launched. Now in its fifth season, the WBBL is regarded as the world's best female T20 competition, where Australia's best and brightest talent often compete against the top echelon of international cricket's greatest players.

The Brisbane Heat will head into WBBL|05 as the reigning champions, after taking out the title in the 2018-19 season. WBBL home games are played all over Queensland including regional towns as well as the State's capital, Brisbane.

Representing Brisbane

We come from a city that is a reflection of the true Australia – easy-going and down to earth, but hard working and determined to be as good as it can be.

A city that is growing fast – a country town quickly becoming a global city, powered by the entrepreneurial belief that anything’s possible, a city that feels like it’s about to explode…

A city blessed with sun, sand and blue skies all year round - where the people live outdoors and on their balconies, surrounded by their friends and families and enjoying the ‘good life’. The lights used to go out at 9. Now we compete in world-class sport under lights every week.

A city that’s defined by its energy and it’s passion – passion for sports and it’s teams, but also for life in general.

Brisbane is Australia’s most progressive, fastest-growing city, and the same energy and passion that drive the city are in the DNA of our Twenty20 team.

The Brisbane Heat’s players will bring the pride and toughness of the people of Brisbane onto the field, and believe that the way you win is as important as winning itself.
