Queensland Cricket and the Brisbane Heat would like to remind you of COVID-19 changes coming this month that may affect your plans for the KFC Big Bash League at the Gabba and Metricon Stadium this season.
From 17 December, the Queensland Government requires all people (aged 16 and over) visiting the Gabba or Metricon Stadium to be fully vaccinated.
This means for you to gain entry to these venues you will need to supply a Queensland Health approved proof of full vaccination (or approved exemption).
Proof of vaccination is required on entry, using any of the following:
All attendees are required to check in using the Check-In Qld app on arrival, show proof of vaccination and have a valid ticket to attend the event being held at Metricon Stadium or the Gabba.
Queensland Cricket urges all fans attending BBL games to give themselves additional time to get into the venue as checks will take place at all gate entry points. Masks are mandatory when entering, exiting and moving around the stadium but can be removed when seated in an allocated stadium seat.
Exemption: Proof of exemption for those who have medical contraindications must be provided by way of a medical certificate stating that a person is exempted from getting a COVID-19 vaccination. This can be downloaded from the Australian Immunisation Register
Exemptions can also be attached to your Check-In Qld profile via your Medicare profile through My-Gov.
The health and safety of our fans, staff, players and all match attendees will always be our priority, and we are pleased to support the Queensland Government’s requirements.
If you have any specific questions about this policy, please refer to the Queensland Health website, which includes a series of frequently asked questions about the vaccination requirement for sporting event attendees.
We look forward to welcoming you to the BBL this summer and another fun and safe season of Brisbane Heat action.
