WATCH: McCullum Blasts Rapid Half-Century

The batting turnaround by Brisbane continues to build momentum, with the ‘Bash Brothers’ Chris Lynn and Brendon McCullum hitting brisk half centuries against the Thunder and like-minded batsman Max Bryant building his own compelling rep at the top of the order. The Renegades became the first team to beat the Hobart Hurricanes in BBL|08 and come to the Gabba with a solid mid-table record in place.

The Renegades won both encounters last season, including a 26-run victory over Brisbane at a sold-out Gabba on 27 January in the last regular season match of the competition when the likes of Kane Richardson, Chris Tremain and Tom Cooper dominated.

The Heat have lost more games than they have won at the Gabba and have traditionally been on the wrong side of the ledger against the Renegades. Brisbane played the opening game of the season at the Gabba last month, losing to reigning champions Adelaide.

Alex Ross v Kane Richardson
Ross led the way with the bat for the Heat in both matches last season and will relish the chance to play a match at the Gabba if called into the fray for the first time this BBL. Richardson played a leading role in the ‘Gades last start win over Hobart with early wickets in the PowerPlay.

WATCH: James Pattinson's LBW

James Pattinson v Tom Cooper
The big Heat quick is ramping up with his pace and variation giving opposition batting line-ups plenty to consider. His efforts against his old club, and in particular team captain Tom Cooper (a long-time nemesis for the Heat), will be crucial.

Matt Renshaw & Joe Burns
The pair of fan favourites were called into the Test line-up today to prepare for the First Test against Sri Lanka at the Gabba later this month. They would like nothing more than to make an impact on their remaining Heat games and this clash is the obvious place to start!
