WATCH Above: Heat Players Reflect on Winning the BBL|02 Title
Getting to the Final
In true Brisbane Heat form, the road to the BBL|02 final wasn't an easy one.
Brisbane lost three of their opening four games to start the season in a precarious position. Led by a dominant Luke Pomersbach at the top of the order, the Heat then won three of their next four to sneak into the semi-final in fourth spot on net-run-rate.
The Heat played the top-placed Melbourne Renegades in the semi-finals at Etihad Stadium where Pomersbach, in career best form, smashed an unbeaten 112 from 81 balls to lead his side to a 15 run victory.
The Big Dance
The Heat traveled to Perth for the second ever KFC Big Bash League Final.
Batting first, Brisbane scored 5/167 from their 20 overs, with Joe Burns top scoring with 43 from 27, with support coming from Pomersbach (37 from 38) and Dan Christian (37 off 21).
The Heat were then able to contain the Scorchers top order, with West Indies recruit Kemar Roach picking up Marcus Stoinis in the 2nd over.
Nathan Hauritz was a standout in the field and with the ball, finishing with three outfield catches and economical figures of three overs, 0/11 in a man-of-the-match performance.
Roach claimed three wickets, Alister McDermott two, Ben Cutting two, Dan Christian one and Chris Lynn one as Perth could only manager 9/133 from their 20 overs.

What They Said
"Luke's innings in the semi-final was phenomenal. The Renegades had been the team to beat throughout the tournament, we were on their home turf and they had some quality bowlers. His genuine talent shone through that day," Brisbane Heat wicket-keeper Chris Hartley on Luke Pomersbach's century in the BBL|02 semi-final against the Melbourne Renegades.
"The difference between the two teams that night was fielding. Nathan Hauritz took three really good catches and bowled up front. To win not only a final, but to win over the other side of the country in Perth was pretty cool," Heat star Chris Lynn on the final in Perth.
"One of my best memories is Nathan Hauritz in the field. He certainly gave as good as he got back to the crowd. As any player would know, it's a pretty hostile environment heading to Perth Scorchers territory," Ben Cutting on the BBL|02 Final.
