Brisbane Heat coach Dan Vettori will liaise closely with Australian cricket medical staff in the next 48 hours after star batsman Chris Lynn injured his right shoulder tonight in the final of the triangular T20 international series at Eden Park in Auckland.
Vettori was at the match as a spectator when Lynn dived to field a ball from a Black Caps batsman, only to land awkwardly.
Australia's medical staff inspected the damage and escorted Lynn from the field, with the batsman clutching his right arm in pain.
It was later confirmed that he had dislocated his shoulder, but it has been put back in place. He will remain off the field for the rest of the innings.
The injury is to the “good” or opposite shoulder to the one which he had operated on last year.
