08 May 2017

Brisbane Heat batsman Chris Lynn made a successful return to the Indian Premier League, clubbing a 21-ball half century for the Kolkata Knight Riders in their win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Lynn and West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine looked to make light work of the 159-run target they were set by RCB, combining for a staggering 105-run opening stand from 6.1 overs before the former fell.

The typically aggressive knock marks a successful return to the crease for Lynn who suffered a shoulder injury earlier in the tournament. He now has scores of 93 not out, 32 and 50 as Kolkata move to second on the IPL ladder ahead of the competition's finals.

The 27-year-old will have the opportunity to add to his single One-Day International cap when he travels to the UK as part of Australia's Champions Trophy squad.

The loss for the Royal Challengers Banagalore (RCB), who are coached by Daniel Vettori and feature Heat internationals Tymal Mills and Samuel Badree, sees them anchored to the bottom of the IPL ladder with just two wins.
