Two days of bidding came to a close on the weekend, with a total of 17 Australian players bought by clubs.
Amongst them were Heat players Chris Lynn and Ben Cutting, both of whom have enjoyed fruitful IPL campaign in the last few seasons.
Lynn's signature proved to be one of the most sought after, with the hard hitter eventually going to the Kolkata Knight Riders, the club where he has played for the majority of his IPL career.
In an injury interrupted 2017 campaign, Lynn hit 295 runs at a strike-rate of 180 and average of 49 for KKR, while he was also a member of their squad that won the 2014 competition.
Cutting, Man of the Match in the 2016 IPL Final with Sunrisers Hyderabad, was picked up by the Mumbai Indians where he will join Heat Assistant Coach Shane Bond and Strength and Conditioning Coach Paul Chapman.
Heat coach Dan Vettori, who is also in charge of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), won the bidding race for Brendon McCullum. RCB will add McCullum's batting prowess to an all-star lineup featuring international superstars Vitat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
