Aussie Duo Return For Key Clash

15 January 2022

The Brisbane Heat will welcome back Australian squad players Mitch Swepson and Michael Neser for their must-win clash with the Melbourne Stars tomorrow night at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

With Chris Lynn looking to celebrate his 100th BBL match tomorrow, the Heat have named a squad of 18 to prepare for the clash, with all 12 players previously affected by COVID-19 included in the playing group.

Neser, who is set to play his first game for the Heat this season, and Swepson will travel by charter flight tomorrow from Hobart.

Pakistan international batsman Fakhar Zaman will remain with the squad ahead of his pending departure home while Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has departed to prepare for his country’s impending series against the Netherlands.

The Heat need a win to stay in the hunt for fifth spot, with their remaining matches against the Perth Scorchers (Monday) and Sydney Sixers (Wed at the Gabba).

Lynn will become the first male Heat player to register 100 games for the club, with WBBL Heat captain Jess Jonassen achieving the milestone earlier in the summer.

He will become the fourth player to reach 100 games, and the first to play all 100 for the one club.
