Mooney Claims Domestic Gong

13 February 2018

Brisbane Heat star Beth Mooney has capped off a memorable summer after being named the Domestic Player of the Year at the Allan Border Medal.

Mooney took out the gong after back-to-back Rebel Women's Big Bash League seasons as the Heat's leading run-scorer, while she was also crowned the competition's best player in WBBL|02.

The opener combined her stylish batting with exemplary wicket-keeping that saw her take eight catches, four stumpings and four Player of the Match awards in WBBL|03.

The Allan Border Medal award adds to her long list of achievements in 2017-18 that includes becoming the first Queenslander female player to score an ODI century, a T20I ton in the recent Women's Ashes series, plus being named the ICC T20I and Emerging Player of the Year.

Next for Mooney will be to don the Queensland Fire maroon in two crucial WNCL 50 over games this weekend.
