Batsman Chris Lynn is out while he recovers from a calf strain sustained in their win over the Perth Scorchers on Friday night.
The Heat have reactivated allrounder Cameron Valente, who has recovered from a foot injury, meaning that paceman Jack Prestwidge drops off the contracted player list to allow Valente’s return to the squad.
The Heat subsequently applied to the BBL Technical Committee to approve Prestwidge as a Local Replacement Player for Australian Under-19 batsman Max Bryant (national commitments) and approval was received today.
BBL regulations stipulate any such replacement must result in the Local Replacement Player being named in the Playing XI or as 12th Man for the match immediately following their elevation to the playing squad.
Prestwidge, who turns 22 next month, comes into the squad for tomorrow night’s game and if selected in the starting side, would make his debut for the Heat.
The Heat squad is otherwise unchanged, as is the Hurricanes which won a last-over thriller against the Sydney Sixers in Hobart last night.
There are five former Heat players in the Hobart squad as well as ex-Queensland spinner Cameron Boyce.
Tomorrow night’s match starts at the later time of 6.40pm Qld time, with tickets available from Ticketmaster.com.au.
Fans are urged to pre-purchase the tickets and print them at home to avoid queuing on the night and to take advantage of the free public transport to and from the venue.
