Swepson Back For Heat

05 January 2020

The Brisbane Heat has included Australian Test squad leg-spinner Mitch Swepson for tomorrow night’s KFC Big Bash League clash with the Sydney Thunder at Spotless Stadium in Sydney.

Swepson has missed the Heat’s past two BBL matches after being called into the Test squad to prepare for the Third Domain Test against New Zealand at the SCG.

Swepson will be released for the Heat game and is the only change to the squad that defeated Hobart by 31 runs on Friday night at Blundstone Arena.
He replaces fellow spinner Matt Kuhnemann.

Batsman Sam Heazlett is still recovering from the illness that saw him require a stay in hospital in Hobart and was not considered for selection.

The Thunder were triumphant in the first game of BBL|09, defeating the Heat by 29 runs at the Gabba.
