Swepson has missed the Heat’s past two BBL matches after being called into the Test squad to prepare for the Third Domain Test against New Zealand at the SCG.
Swepson will be released for the Heat game and is the only change to the squad that defeated Hobart by 31 runs on Friday night at Blundstone Arena.
He replaces fellow spinner Matt Kuhnemann.
Batsman Sam Heazlett is still recovering from the illness that saw him require a stay in hospital in Hobart and was not considered for selection.
The Thunder were triumphant in the first game of BBL|09, defeating the Heat by 29 runs at the Gabba.
They currently sit in fourth spot on 7 points after six games, with the Heat in fifth spot with 4 points after five games.
Brisbane Heat v Sydney Thunder, Spotless Stadium, Sydney, tomorrow, 6.10pm Qld time.
