Following his departure from the Sydney Thunder, the Brisbane Heat are thrilled to welcome Uzzy to the club in BBL | 12. His transition from lime green to teal became a natural step as Captain of the Queensland Bulls and as a Bayside local.

This season, I’m most looking forward to playing in front of aHeat crowd wearing teal for the first time. It’s a special atmosphere and there’s nothing quite like the bounce of a Gabba wicket!”
In 2022 Usman was formally recognised and awarded by the State Government as a ‘Queensland Great’ for his contribution to the game and his impact as a youth and multicultural advocate.
