THE ULTIMATE BIG BASH BUCKET LIST: 5 THINGS YOU MUST SEE AT THE GABBA THIS SEASON!

Summer holidays are just around the corner, which means Big Bash season is upon us! Over December and January, the Brisbane Heat will light up The Gabba across five epic home fixtures, with more excitement and entertainment than ever before.

With a huge line up of things to see and do both on and off the field, we’ve pulled together the ultimate bucket list of exciting experiences you must see this season!

Kick off your game day at the Royal Caribbean Fan Zone

First up, the party begins at the Royal Caribbean Fan Zone located at the Gabba Park on Main Street (near Gate 2). There are plenty of free activities for everyone to enjoy including:

  • Face Painting with Queensland Country Bank.
  • Cricket activities where you can learn how to catch like a pro on the Royal Caribbean and Brisbane Heat inflatables.
  • Hair Braiding with Jimmy Rods.
  • Music from DJ Chelsea, performed on the back of the Toyota Tunes ute.
  • Win great prizes at the Poolwerx and Nova pop-up tent…plus so much more!

Hot tip: The Royal Caribbean Fan Zone (Gabba Park) opens 1.5 hours before the match start time. We recommend you arrive at least one hour before the game starts so you can immerse yourself in all the exciting activities and have plenty of time to head into the stadium to enjoy the pre-game entertainment.

Celebrity First Ball is BACK!

There’s nothing better than seeing a celebrity have a crack at hitting the stumps! Make sure you are in your seats approximately 15 minutes before the game starts for the ceremonial Celebrity First Ball. Last year we saw the likes of Charlie Cameron, Dr Chris Brown, and Billy Walters all give it a go, but no celeb has hit the stumps yet. Will you witness history being made this season? Make sure you’re in your seats to catch the moment!

The live entertainment line-up is BIG!

There’s plenty of off-field action and entertainment at a Heat match, and this summer some fan favourites are returning to the stage, including Sax ManHeater the Mascot, the Heat Dance Crew and DJ Chelsea. If that wasn’t enough, you’ll also see FIRE TWIRLERS on the field to bring the spark to Opening Night on 19 December, plus, THE PRESETS are headlining the StreetSmarts Innings Break Show on 2 January for the New Year’s Bash presented by Ticketek. So get your family and friends together these summer holidays and let us entertain you!

Sit back and enjoy the StreetSmarts Innings Break Show

Returning to The Gabba this season is the iconic StreetSmarts Innings Break Show. Stay in your seats after the First Innings of each match to see the Gabba lights go down, as the sky lights up with an unforgettable fireworks and lighting display. This season we’ll see Gold Coast DJ NICKA35 take the stage on 19 & 27 December, The Presets on 2 January, a set from Sax Man on 10 January and Heater on the decks for the last home game on 18 January. When it comes to Brisbane Heat entertainment, it doesn’t get any more iconic than the StreetSmarts Innings Break Show.

Collect a bunch of free giveaways

Free giveaways are back this season and will be handed out at each main gate (Gates 2, 4, 7 & 9). This season the Heat will be giving away:

  • Teal Santa Hats on 19 December (Heat v Scorchers)
  • KFC Bucket Heads
  • Foam Fingers thanks to Queensland Country Bank
  • Clap Banners from Royal Caribbean
  • Heat Squishy Balls post-game as the players give autographs on the boundary for 30 minutes.

Hot Tip: While there’s plenty of giveaways to go around, they don’t last for long! We recommend entering the stadium at least 45 minutes before the first ball for your best chance of getting your hands on a Heat freebie.

This season will be action-packed! Don’t miss out on experiencing summer’s greatest show at a Brisbane Heat match this season. Secure your seat to the Big Bash via TicketekSee you there!
