English international Sarah Glenn and Australian allrounder Grace Harris headline the Brisbane Heat squad for this week’s T20 Spring Challenge series in Sydney.
SPRING CHALLENGE LOOMS | Glenn Set For Warm-Ups
Glenn, one of two overseas players signed by the Heat for this month’s Weber Women’s Big Bash League, will link with the squad this week as the build-up to the WBBL intensifies ahead of its launch on 29 October.
Promising pace bowler Catherine White and current Australian Under-19 allrounder Flilippa SueSee have been included in the squad, with both making their senior Queensland Fire debuts in recent weeks.
SueSee, 17, was awarded her first Fire cap last week when she played for Queensland in their win over Bangladesh in their official tour match at Ian Healy Oval.
Australia ‘A’ duo Charli Knott and Sianna Ginger have also been included, with Knott leading the way for Queensland against Bangladesh with a commanding 94 from 64 balls in the one day match.
The Heat will fill their final spot on their 15-player WBBL roster following the completion of the T20 Spring Challenge in Sydney which starts tomorrow.
The T20 Spring Challenge is a pre-WBBL warm-up tournament that features the eight Big Bash clubs as well as the ACT Meteors.
The Heat have featured in the Final of the Spring Challenge for the past two seasons.
