BREAKTHROUGH HEAT BACK HOME | Take On Hurricanes

The Heat have stuck with the 13-players which enjoyed a breakthrough win over the Adelaide Strikers in Sydney yesterday, ending a 706-day streak without a win.

Allrounder Charli Knott became the third Heat player to score a WBBL century, joining foundation players Beth Mooney and Grace Harris, hitting 104 from 61 balls.

The 23-year-old allrounder hit her maiden WBBL century today as the Heat ended a 706-day winless streak, overcoming the Adelaide Strikers at Drummoyne Oval with Knott scoring 104 from 61 balls.

Knott became the third youngest player to score a WBBL century, behind Australian star Ash Gardner, who was 20 when she hit the first of her two tons in 2017, and her Heat teammate Grace Harris, who was 22 when she struck her first.

Knott is also the first player to hit a WBBL century without having played international cricket. All 12 previous century makers in the WBBL have been capped for their countries.

Captain Georgia Redmayne went past 2000 career runs for the Heat in their 14-run victory yesterday and needs a further 60 to reach 3000 career runs.

The match is a Foxtel and Kayo exclusive.

Tickets are selling quickly for the match, the second home game so far for the Heat.
