Player Story

Powerful West Indian allrounder Chinelle Henry was chosen by the Heat for their third-round pick in the International Player Draft. Henry was a stand-out performer in the WPL earlier this year where she played for the UP Warriorz alongside Grace Harris. The 29-year-old right-hand bat and right-arm medium pacer was signed as a replacement for Alyssa Healy, and equaled the record for the fastest fifty in the tournament, scoring an 18-ball half-century. She finished the tournament with a league-leading strike-rate of 196. The Jamaican has played 57 One Day Internationals and 62 T20 Internationals for the West Indies with 33 one day wickets and 22 T20 wickets. With the bat, Henry has produced several key innings, including a series-winning half century for the West Indies over Ireland last year. She was part of Barbados Royals' title win in the Women's Caribbean Premier League in 2023. This is her first time playing in the WBBL.
