JUNIOR CRICKET CLUB: Marist Brothers Lismore Cricket Club
Young gun Grace Parsons grew up in Northern New South Wales and signed with the Brisbane Heat in WBBL|08. The leg-spinner has yet to debut in teal but has been soaking up the experience from her teammates. In 2023, Grace was announced as the inaugural winner of the Pike-Maher Medal at the Queensland Cricket Awards Gala for outstanding community contribution. In February 2022, while preparing for a WNCL game, Grace organised flood clean-up and retrievals during the catastrophic flooding event in her hometown of Lismore. In the immediate aftermath, she donated her first Queensland match payment and co-ordinated similar donations from the Queensland Fire squad and their opponents South Australia.

Brisbane Heat’s indigenous artwork was collaboratively designed by WBBL player and proud Kunja woman Mikayla Hinkley and Brisbane Indigenous artist, Delores McDonald (“Aunty Delly”).
The centre circle represents the Gabba, alongside other water holes which used to be near the ground. 87 black strokes on red earth represent the wickets taken by Aboriginal great, Eddie Gilbert who played 23 games for Queensland.
