The Brisbane Heat have their sights set on silverware of the red-carpet variety after the club’s documentary ‘Reignite’ was nominated for an Australian Sports Commission Media Award for Sports Documentary of the Year.
REIGNITE NOMINATED | Documentary In Running For Award
Created in-house by the Brisbane Heat’s content and marketing team, Reignite tells the story of the club’s rise from the bottom of the KFC Big Bash League to the BBL|13 Championship.
The full-length feature includes 26 interviews from players, coaches, administrators, commentators, and journalists on the Heat’s personalities and their lives on and off the pitch.
Reignite was launched in November 2024 across 29 Event Cinemas throughout Australia, in addition to featuring on Channel 7, 7plus, and on the Heat’s YouTube channel, while also reaching 4.5 million fans on social media.

Reignite Executive Producer and Brisbane Heat General Manager of Commercial, Marketing and Corporate Affairs Pete Lock celebrated the nomination.
“Reignite is a story of resilience, teamwork, and the person behind the player, and we are proud to see this recognition alongside some amazing documentaries,'' he said.
"Our aim was to give our fans a unique insight into the personality of our players and to celebrate the passion we know so many people have for the Heat and the Big Bash.
“We received wonderful feedback from our fans on the documentary, so to receive this nomination is a great reward to our hard working off-field team for the passion, determination and creativity shown to produce what is a special piece of work.”
The Australian Sports Commission Media Awards will be held on February 23 in Sydney.

The Brisbane Heat club will transition from the Weber Women's Big Bash League to the KFC Big Bash League this week, with the men's squad gearing up for their opening game of BBL|15 on Monday against the Melbourne Renegades in Geelong.
The Heat will hold an intra-squad practice game at Redlands Cricket Club at Wellington Point tomorrow and train under lights at the Gabba on Thursday and Friday.
The team will travel to Geelong on Saturday and first squad will be announced on Sunday.
